"Hello everything! Hope you are safe and well. Here is the Vol. 6! We start with the amazing B-side of The Tangle’s ‘Our Side Of Town’ (take a look at it, it worth the click!). Then a nice Manhattan release by the Pewter Pals (I think they ‘stole’ the sound of the comb rubbing in ‘Stand By Me’). Also, this nice song by The Five (judging by their children’s voices, the one who doesn’t love them anymore must be their mother!).
The Dolphins track is wonderful, with this top organ, and they are on Yorkshire records! Then comes Frenchy & The Underground Railroad, a crudely recorded late song from 1970, but they beat! The Rare Breed is there too, with an amazing unreleased at the time song. Also are The Starks (my favorite one) on Iris Records (same label as Sound Unreal’s ‘Scene Of The Crime’). And to finish the first ‘side’ a cover of Lovin’ Spoonful’s ‘Younger Girl’ on the legendary Bee-Jay Demo Vol. II.
To start the second ‘side’, here is The Paupers’ ‘Honey Bee’ (the other side ‘Shining Light’ is uncompiled and really nice too). Then The Trochais’ ‘Give Me An Answer’ on Satin (same label as Gary & Kyle’s ‘Stay With Me’, love that tune!) The band included the 3 Akeroyd brothers, their story is very interesting: http://ontheroadsouth.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-trochais.html
Then the extremely rare single by The Fifth Page. If someone has a soundclip of the B side ‘Tuesday Night’, I would be very curious to hear it. The Illusions’ ‘Bitter End’ is a really nice unreleased track too. The Band never released anything at the time, but did two recording sessions in 1965 and 1966. The song is from the 1966 one. The Impacts tune is very interesting too. Raw and savage, crudely recorded, they have the same sound as the Kruisers (aka The Lost Ones) that did the amazing ‘I Can’t Believe You’ on the same Mersey label.
Then The Lords Of London (aka The Bundys) play this early unreleased Arthur Lee (Love) recording. They recorded it twice, I preferred this one. The Alias #1 are a very unfairly unknown band. I love both sides of their only single on American Records. The B side ‘Beautiful Bunny Beach’ strangely looks like an unreleased song by the Extremes called ‘I’m Hurtin’’, but it’s possibly accidental. To finish with, a nice instrumental by The Shapes Of Things using the chords of ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me’, but it’s still great!
Thanks people for your support on my work and see you with the upload of the Vol. 7! (spoil: The Psych Part 2!)
PS: One song is on stereo with nothing on one side, I didn’t succeed to correct it."
