  1. Here's something that's different from what I usually post. This guy sounds like the Beach Boys and he's really good.

If your into that early Beach Boys sound check out his material on Bandcamp: https://mikeorourke.bandcamp.com

This track is from his album: Quintessence - The Dodechedron (Music of the Spheres), released February 8, 2021

    "Greetings Mike O'Rourke here,

Sometime ago I responded to inquiries about my songs "Weekend" and "Mary Ann" clarifying the mystery of their orgin.

Due to the Covid, with time on our hands, my son Matt, and I dug out all of the old 7 inch reels of my quest to understand the great songs of the Beach Boys. This album, and the songs that we have since uncovered, represent my expierments.

Some of you may remember, Jeffrey Foskett aquiried my label name "New Surf", and other songs of mine.

I sent a cassette tape to Carl with my versions of Beach Boys' songs when they were at Caesars' Palace in 1988. Jeff must have heard these songs, as he was curious enough to come see me perform at the old Showboat Hotel & Casino. This is where Jeff and I became acquainted.

I've had several inquiries to hear what were described as "The Pre-Jeff Versions" with my original performance and mix. Here are some of them, more to come!

These versions are from the original tape I recorded in the 80's and went straight from my Teac A2340 to ProTools with no effects or new technology jazz applied."

All Music, Vocals and Production performed by Mike O'Rourke, except for Dr. Allan Padderud's Sax on the track "Thru My Window" which I did have to tune for him. R.I.P.
