  1. Flippin' Kick Outs - garage rock from Sydney, Australia

Track from their album: Flippin' Kick Outs, released May 10, 2021

"Back in 2019 we lost a band member and wondered what was next. We had plans to do some more recording with the old band, the Flipped Out Kicks, but that band didn’t exist any more. But the three of us who were left were keen to continue, and we had a couple of songs from the old set we wanted to record. Then it started to grow, and we were writing some original songs and the project took a whole new direction. We’d played in a clearly defined “60s garage punk” style before, but now we were adding to that with different styles. Some of it sounded a bit rockabilly, some of it sounded like it came from Detroit, some of it was hard to place in terms of influence except that it was – totally – rock music. So we had an album of ten songs and called up some guests to help us out. Not even COVID-19 could stop us. And the Flippin’ Kick Outs is the result….."
