(Unfortunately, two bands contributed songs but they made this video ineligible for monetization so shout out to Soul Glo and Pissmixer for having good intentions.)
Man, what a world we live in right now. But at least the world is finally waking up, right? RIGHT…?
After all the copyright issues I thought it was best to take a minute to assess how to move forward with the channel. Unfortunately, the death of George Floyd halted me in my tracks as people became radicalized to a movement that has been going on for too long. While this is just a small, small gesture to the struggles of black people everywhere, I hope that it is a gesture that will make some coin for a good cause. Because of the copyright issues, all songs on this playlist are submissions that were contributed by artists that are accomplices to this movement. If you’re throwing your hands up and yelling, “why wasn’t my band on this,” or “where is so-and-so black band,” that’s why… so if you want to get involved or hear your favorite band that has black bodies email me a track and comment the bands of your desire.
…Because I’m really digging this charity playlist idea. This won’t be the last one I throw up. So if your BIPOC, LGBTQIA, or accomplice band wants to throw in let me know.
In the mean time, I’m still working on a new format to bring to YouTube without worrying about copyrights. Interviews, dj sets, video essays? Who knows. Also leave a comment if you like/hate/have something to say about that.
