American rock band. Their early music (Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash and Stink EP) was influenced by American hardcore (like their contemporaries Hüsker Dü) with later albums slowing down tempo. Bob Stinson left the band in 1986, and was later replaced by Slim Dunlap. The band broke up in 1991 due to internal tensions. In 2006, the surviving members (without the original drummer Chris Mars, and without Bob Stinson who died in 1995) gathered together and recorded some new tracks for a Replacements compilation. On 3 October 2012, it was announced that The Replacements were active again.
