  1. Woody Ryder & the Undertow - surf rock / noir from Chicago, Illinois

Song from the EP: Santa Barbara, released December 2, 2019

    about:
Woody Ryder & the Undertow is the new surf sound of Chicago. A trio mixing noir-ish, surf inspired originals with instrumental rock & roll classics from the 1950s and 60s. They're what happens when you pick up a Fender Stratocaster in California and then leave it in the Midwest for twenty years. They're the 11 minutes you've been waiting for your whole adult life. They're your wedding band if your fiancé is the ghost of Sam Spade. They have Zed's chopper out back and it's on fire. They took the telephone's last cigarette and then bought the piano a round of drinks. They're hemi-powered. They played your Enchantment Under the Sea dance and spiked the punch with Malort. They're the reason you did your hair like that tonight. You came here to dance and meet girls, they brought both. They wrote 37 songs and recorded them all at the bottom of Lake Michigan one January. These are the three that made it back up through the ice.
