Unicef - Käkimassaa 7"

  1. Unicef is one of the most legendary Finnish punk bands though the band existed only for a while and released only one 7" single in 1983.

Unicef was one of so-called "Sorbus" punk bands. They didn't get any money after the gigs, they got twelve and a half bottles of "Sorbus" wine (three for each member and a half for Pitkä, the roadie).

All kinds of rumors were going around about the band and its members, because Unicef was pretty wild on stage. Once, when Unicef were playing at Lepakko, Unicef's singer Tino pierced his own genitals and cheek with safety pins and connected them with a chain.

Tino died in November 1995 after he fell from a scaffolding. Jonza died in April 2005 after he fell down stairs drunk.
