Biography: Junco Shakers are a 4 piece band formed in September 2015. Taking influances from 50’s rock n roll, skiffle, reggae, blues, and jazz artists such as big Joe turner, leadbelly,
Lonnie donegan and Louis prima. Sam La’penn and Gaz playing acoustic guitars, Mitch Ratcliffe on Double bass and Ben Gunn beating the washboard topped off with gospel vocal harmonies are making Junco shakers create their own music dubbed “skifllebilly”. Throwing music back to its routes whilst crafting contemporary songs.
Based in Southampton Junco Shakers are quickly making a name for themselves as a must see band. They have built a strong fan base across the south coast and are now quickly making their way around the UK.
