Biography: Hailing from the UK, this one time Morrissey opener Rockin’ Lloyd Tripp began his musical career playing with London’s hip rockabilly favorites the Megatons (‘81-‘84) which featured Boz Boorer of the Polecats. Then with Garage/Psychobilly legends The Vibes (‘83-‘86) one of John Peels/BBC all time greatest discoveries. Lloyd filled in on bass with The Stingrays (’84-’85) during which time he also played with the Blubbery Hellbellies (’83-’85) which was named by friend and Pouges frontman Shane MacGowan. Performing as Rockin’ Lloyd Tripp since his arrival in the US in ’86. With his musical career spanning nearly 3 decades, 4 CD’s later Lloyd is now calling Austin, TX home. Whether you catch Rockin’ Lloyd Tripp pummeling his upright bass or bending his guitar he is still pumping out 100% original songs from the heart.
Over the years he has played with and backed such legendary artsists as JOE CLAY, JOHNNY POWERS, NARVEL FELTS, DALE HAWKINS, ROCKY BURNETTE, PAUL BURLISON, MIKE BUCK, DON LEADY. THE SWINGING UTTERS, DARREL HIGHAM, SONNY GOERGE, TOMMY SANDS and HAYDEN THOMPSON.
