JOEY & HIS SHOWMEN - Not an imitator, not limited to instrumentals. An original 1961 So. Cal. - based band, blending our pre-surf instrumentals, vocals, uniquely arranged covers and originals – merging several generations & genres: 60's West Coast Beach Culture, 50's R&B, 50's Rock, 50's Tiki, And 40's Big Band - Creating A Sub-genre Classified As “The West Coast Beat”... Joe and His Showmen drive a Generation-Correct, Early 60’s Rock and Roll and Original California Surf Sound. A life-long and dear friend of Dick Dale, the “revolutionizer” of surf music in the 1950's, Joe performed as one of Dick’s Deltones in the late 60's and prior to that, in the early 60’s with his original “Showmen”. Combined, they put on the surf scene, chart songs like "Let's Go Trippin”, “Miserlou”, “Surf Beat”, “Esperanza”, “Riptide” and so many more.
Today’s Showmen include Joe Geinice, founder, leader and one of the original surf music pioneers. Dennis Andrews, bass player-extraordinaire, Steve Caruso on guitar and Bob Caldarella on drums, life-long musicians in their own right; all together, re-create that very unique, melodic sound.
