Burgundy Runn - Stop

  1. From OP:
Lavette 5014 - Albuquerque New Mexico USA 1967. Classics Galore pt 5. Gotta reproduce this article from Albuquerque Journal, May 1, 67:
Long ago in France there existed a tribe of barbarians. They lived in the kingdom of Burgundy and after several night-runs the people of the land came to know them as the Burgundy Runn. True? Well, that's how an Albuquerque rock and roll band explain their decision to name themselves the "Burgundy Runn". The four members of the group who insist their nightraids differ from the barbarians have been together for eight months. They are Bob Maynard, Joe Doss, Dave Goodnow, all 18-year-old Highland High School seniors and Dave Schmuck, 20. "How Far Up Is Down' the quartet's first record was written by three of the members Joe Bob and Goodnow. But the idea first came about when Joe was sitting at the bottom of Carlstad Caverns gazing up to those who were looking down at him. "Some kids think it's a song of dope, sex, or nature we leave it up to them," said noncommittal Joe. For a relatively new band and a first record The Burgundy Runn are headed for success, states their production manager. What do others think about this music? Fellow musicians say "They don't copy, they create their own sound - really wild"
