The Dead Brothers are a folk band from Geneva . Founded in 1999, they call themselves a "funeral band" and fuse country , waltz , blues , punk , rockabilly , chansons and Balkan folk. The quartet replaces the bass as an instrument through the tuba. They sing German, but especially English and French, and maintain bizarre and theatrical concert performances. They play many original compositions, but also songs by Hank Williams , The Cramps , Serge Gainsbourg or Marlene Dietrich .

Head of the quartet is Alain Croubalian (formerly Maniacs ). The Dead Brothers have released several albums and tour regularly throughout Europe. In 2002 they wrote the musical Day of the Dead for the Swiss National Exhibition Expo.02 and the music for the feature film Flammend 'Herz by Andrea Schuler and Oliver Ruts about three old German tattoo artists . "Unconventional is also what the dead brothers made of Swamp Blues , Country and Gypsy Jazz [...] and everything is of the most vibrant Moribundheit".
