From OP: Another 2 sided masterpiece from the brothers, and this one doesn't hold back! "Down Home" is just fabulous, and surely has one of the best outro's ever! It's backed with a new cut of the Devil's Music which really does put you in the pits of hell. Wait till you hear that one! All titles available from www.rollinrecordsuk.com
Influences: Harmonica Frank Floyd, Charlie Feathers, Carl Perkins, The Burnette Bros, The Lonesome Drifter. Sun Records. Starday Custom Rockabilly artists.
Rockin' rhythms and dark tales. It all started with the idea for us to release one 45 on our own label with two original songs. I Put A Hex On You c/w Devil Angel. That is what we did and released the record on the ‘Bop’ label. It proved to be more popular than we had anticipated so the whole thing kind of snowballed from there. We released a second 45 on ‘Sleazy Records’ “ Move Out” and then another twelve 45’s on ‘Rollin Records’ and we are still very active with them and are about to relase our fifteenth single. We do not set out to achieve perfect authentic rockabilly, some artists can achieve it but not many, when we record something we try and create something that people can dance to and has a good feel and is reflective of the music we grew up listening to. The reason Bill Haley was so successful was because his music had a fantastic dance beat, so that is what we try to do. We use our influences to create what we feel to be dance music with a rockin' beat. We are inspired by artists like Bo Diddley,Charlie Feathers, Arthur Crudup,Johnny Burnette, Howlin Wolf, Carl Perkins, and all the other great musical artists of the 50s and 60s. We write all of our own songs as it suits us better. The ideas for songs can come from various sources, old Film Noir movies, pulp paperbacks of the 50s, classic tales from people like H.G.Wells or Edgar Allen Poe. We like dark tales and mysterious themes and sometimes just songs about the music itself. Music has to be creative and that goes for the writing too. We don't post pictures of ourselves as we are purely about the music and the records we release and that is it. We have both been in bands before and it is great to be in a gigging band but we just never set out for the Sirocco Bros to be like that. We are sure to play live one day though at the right time and place. We would put the same thought and careful consideration into a live gig as we do the many records we have released. There you go folks that is us. Some people like what we do and some people don't and that is exactly how it should be. We would like to thank every one who has supported us and bought our records or shared our music in any way, especially all the DJ’s. Music will only last as long as there are people to support it. Thank you. The Sirocco Bros.
