Sound Explosion is perhaps the most important and oldest active garage band in Greece. They were formed in 1991 and consist of: Giannis Alexopoulos (vocals, guitars and harmonicians), Dimitrios Dimopoulos (bass and vocals), Stelios Askoxylakis (frofisas, maracas and vocals) and Stavros Dytikla (drums and percussion). In the 1990s, they appeared next to great names of the era, such as Fuzztones, Sick Rose, Cynics, Dead Moon, Marshmallow Overcoat (a Merlin's concert), etc. Leaving as a repository important appearances and recordings, they dissolve in 1997 but this did not last much and in the early millennium they were reactivated with appearances in Greece and abroad. In 2017 they record their second album titled "The Explosive Sounds Of ...", released in the spring of 2018, and is outraged.

Οι Sound Explosion είναι ίσως η σημαντικότερη και παλαιότερη ενεργή garage μπάντα στον ελλαδικό χώρο. Σχηματίστηκαν το 1991 και αποτελούνται από τους: Γιάννη Αλεξόπουλο (φωνή, κιθάρες και φυσαρμόνικα), Δημήτριο Δημόπουλο (μπάσο και φωνητικά), Στέλιο Ασκοξυλάκη (φαρφίσα, μαράκες και φωνητικά) και Σταύρο Δακτύλα (τύμπανα και κρουστά). Στη δεκαετία του 90 εμφανίστηκαν δίπλα σε πολύ μεγάλα ονόματα της εποχής, όπως οι Fuzztones, οι Sick Rose, οι Cynics , οι Dead Moon, οι Marshmallow Overcoat (μία συναυλία του Merlin’s) κ.α. Αφήνοντας σαν παρακαταθήκη σημαντικές εμφανίσεις και ηχογραφήσεις, διαλύονται το 1997 αλλά αυτό δεν κράτησε πολύ και στις αρχές της νέας χιλιετίας επαναδραστηριοποιούνται με εμφανίσεις σε Ελλάδα και εξωτερικό. Το 2017 ηχογραφούν το δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους με τίτλο “The Explosive Sounds Of...” που κυκλοφορεί την άνοιξη του 2018 και γίνεται ανάρπαστος.
