From OP (hate5six): "Ever since I first heard the audio recording for INSIDE OUT's second to last show I dreamed of one day tracking down video from it. Last week I posted about how I found the audio tape 6 years ago (https://www.instagram.com/p/Br3XmQ3hZGY). I've listened to it nonstop wondering what it was like being in that room. Today, it's no longer in my imagination. This is the 3000th hate5six release.
The lineup for this and the final show (June 1, 1991) was: Zack de la Rocha, Mark Haworth, Mike Rosas (guitar), Joey Piro (drums).
The unlabeled tape was recovered by the Haworth family from their attic and given to me over the summer. I popped the tape into my VCR not knowing what to expect, only to realize it was one of the holy grails.
This recording is being released in its entirety w/the approval of the band. The original filmer is not known but I hope they come forward if for no other reason than to recover the original recording. At some point during the life of this tape it was partially erased by accident and taped over with an airing of "The Wizard of Oz". A clear example of the fragility of analog media and need for digital preservation.
I teamed up w/Len Carmichael at @landminestudios to mix/master the audio from the camera along w/the separate audio recording closer to the stage provided by the Rosas family by way of Spencer (Mission Impossible) and John S. The high and low ends from both recordings complement each other very well and we were able to produce a mix that sounds better than either alone.
I'm thankful to Inside Out for letting me restore and share this recording. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate my 3000th release on the last day of my 10th year running this project."
Setlist:
1. Undertone 2. Burning Fight 3. Just Like You 4. By A Thread 5. Darkness of Greed 6. Sacrifice 7. Rage Against the Machine 8. No Spiritual Surrender
